Overview
Twelve platform businesses across Greater China, Japan and Southeast Asia — marine and industrial services, cold chain, specialty materials, testing and branded consumer. Every one was founder- or family-owned when we took control, and most reached us through people we had known for years rather than an auction. Nine are current holdings; three have been realised. Third-generation harbour towage and bunkering operator. We funded the fleet replacement the family had deferred for a decade and brought in a non-family CEO alongside the founder's daughter as chair.
Precision machining for medical device OEMs. The founder had no successor and three competing offers from strategics; he chose the buyer who agreed not to move production out of Osaka.
Cold-chain distribution across Luzon and Cebu. Six add-on acquisitions since entry, all of them family-owned regional operators introduced by the founding family.
Adhesives and coatings for display manufacturing. Carve-out from a listed conglomerate that had starved the division of capital for eight years.
Heritage sauce and condiment brands. Realised in 2023 to a European strategic; the family retained a minority stake and both founding brothers remain on the board.
Our first investment. Premium folding-carton packaging for cosmetics; realised in 2021 after doubling capacity and adding a Vietnam plant.
Aerospace-grade fasteners. Bought from two brothers in their seventies who had run the business since 1981 and wanted every employee kept.
Multi-site dental and specialist clinics. A physician-founder platform where clinicians roll equity into the group rather than sell outright.
Materials testing and certification laboratories serving semiconductor supply chains across Taiwan and Kyushu.
Marine spare-parts distribution. Acquired alongside Hoi Tin's management team, who identified the target and co-invested.
Industrial water treatment and filtration for food and beverage plants. The founder wanted to retire without selling to a foreign owner; we held eight years and realised in 2024 to a domestic strategic, engineering team intact.
Engineered wood panels for the regional furniture trade. A second-generation family split on the future; we bought out the departing sibling and backed the one who stayed to run the mill.
